Tell Her

"It feels weird... but right at the same time... you know what I mean?" my best friend squealed down the phone, ecstatic about her new boyfriend.
"Umm hum," I mumbled staring at the floral patterns painted on my toenails. So this is what heartbreak felt like?

"Hi, I'm , and this is my best friend, ," I grinned, shaking the hand of my newly-made friend, . grinned up at and shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you ," she beamed, and he beamed back at her. But I thought nothing of it. They were just being friendly, weren't they?

4 years later, had plucked up the courage to tell how he really felt. How he thought she was beautiful - all the things I wished he would someday say to me. We'd been inseparable since we were 5 years old. Right back to the day when had accidentally picked up my lunchbox - when we both shared a love for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and ended up playing hide and seek all dinner.

I opened the front door to be greeted by and , holding hands and both looking extremely pleased with themselves. They awkwardly sat in my room, watching the tv. Usually it was me cuddling up to , while the three of us laid on the bed, but now I was sat on the edge while snuggled up to 's chest. I felt like I didn't belong - like I was just the tag along.

and stayed together until the end of college, and then I lost contact with them both. The whole campus thought and made the perfect couple, and was always going on about on the rare occasions when we would have some time alone. After all these years, I had to find some new friends. I was so used to 's jokes and ways that I sometimes found myself talking about a private joke before realising that they didn't understand - it was only him who would ever share that connection... we both had the same sense of humour that nobody else ever understood... but then again, people say that opposites attract.

My mum would always ask about , and I would just shrug it off, and say that we'd drifted apart. Sometimes I'd find myself staring at the lunchbox that had eaten out of that I'd kept all these years or the photo albums that filled my bottom drawer. I would flick through them and be greeted with , proudly holding his skateboard and presenting a cheesy grin, hands on hips. Then there was my favourite one - it was after his first gig. He'd come off stage, beaming with sweat dripping from his hair. We were both 13, and he was wearing his white shirt and grey shorts. There were loads of girls staring at him and dancing in front of him all the way through the set, but his eyes always drifted to me when he looked up. It was the first time I'd gotten that tingling sensation in my stomach, that sudden rush of affection for him.
"That was seriously awesome! This is what I want to do. I'm not bothered about getting a proper job... I want to perform in front of all these people and have a good time - and I'm going to take you with me, every step of the way, . Oh your not gonna get rid of me that easily, missus!" He laughed and picked me up by the waist and span me round and round, not taking his eyes off me once. He carried me in his arms to the bar and before putting me down, his friend Ryan flashed a Polaroid camera at us. I remembered holding that photo to my chest that night and reliving the moment again and again, the vision of his glittering eyes dancing through my head.

I'd got a date one night - someone who I met after jumping down from the stage at the pub I sometimes played at. I sang and played the guitar, and I knew most of the regulars. They'd all stop their conversations and listen to me play, but one Saturday there was a new face, sat on his own at the bar, sipping his beer. I strummed the last chord and smiled as the crowd clapped. He stood up from his stool and smiled as if he knew me, as if he was proud of me. My throat was dry, so I went to get a glass of water that Bob, the barman had already poured out for me. I guess Bob was like a dad to me. My dad had left home when I was young and when I ever felt down or like I needed someone to talk to, I'd go down to the pub and Bob would talk to me, and help me out. That's how I got to be playing in the bar, when I needed a bit of extra cash, Bob said that he needed some entertainment. It took a bit of reassuring, but I ended up taking the job in the end. Anyway, back to the date. I guess he could look a bit like from afar... that same jaw line and hair, the same style of clothing.
"That was brilliant," he said from behind me, and as I turned around I instantly noticed that he didn't have those deep eyes or that same trademark smile. He was like , but without all of those little parts of him that made you think "wow". I sighed. I guess he was kind of nice though, and I had to get over .
"Thanks," I beamed. "I'm ," he smiled, and I introduced myself to him. We were talking for a while about different things and he gave me his mobile number before I left for home. He walked me outside to my taxi and gave me a kiss on the cheek goodnight. He was really sweet. He'd offered to pay for my drinks, my taxi, everything and 5 minutes after waving goodbye to him as he stood out on the pavement in the heavy rain through the back window, my phone gave out a beep to say he'd texted me to see if I was okay.
"You've got a good'un there, love," the taxi driver looked through the rear view mirror at me, I smiled politely.
"I only met him an hour ago," I giggled, a little cheerful from the alcohol I'd just drank.
"Well don't lose that one. He's a keeper," he winked at me before looking back at the traffic lights through the misty window which were turning green. I thanked the driver and have him a tip before letting myself into my third floor flat, plonking myself down on my sofa and turning on the tv. It was around half past ten - early I know. My Sky box was left on ITV2, and I was greeted by Jonathan Ross's face, presenting his TV chat show.
"Next on the show, we have a new young band that have just been signed by Universal Records and have their new single out at the end of this week. Please welcome... McFly!" He turned around on his chair to face the door, where four young guys walked through and onto the sofa. There was an especially cute looking guy with long hair, hiding his eyes. I smiled to myself, crossed my legs, grabbed some nail varnish off my coffee table and started painting my toenails. At last, a decent-looking band from England. The four of them sat on the red sofa and Jonathan Ross shook their hands.
"So here we have , , and ..." my head jerked up at the name "" and the blue nail varnish smudged onto my skin.
"...?" I murmured to myself.
"Well we had auditions and I guess they fitted the part. Although we could have picked a better ," the one named laughed, and the audience also laughed as gave him a joking evil glare.
"So are any of you guys single?" the presenter questioned and the audience fell silent.
"Yes, we are all single," winked and the audience cheered. But what about ? I guess they must have broke up... poor . I bet he was devestated. Unless it was the other way round?
was really quiet all the way through the interview. He just laughed and nodded as the others answered the questions. Until the presenter noticed.
", you've been pretty quiet, are you the shy one of the group or are you a dark horse?" laughed and shrugged.
"He may come across quiet, but once you get him on your own, you can't shut him up. He's like a 6 year old who's had too many sweets," poked him in the ribs making him squirm. He looked so adorable and young, not like the guy who'd left college with a girlfriend, ready for settling down and getting a house together. He was more like a guy who had just left high school and just been the one who sat at the back of the class, listening to music - not the popular chatty guy he was.
After playing their new single - it was alright, bit more pop than I was expecting, but was still jumping around, just like when he was thirteen - Jonathan clapped and said into the camera: "and if you'd like to meet these four teenage heart-throbs then you can go to www.mcflyofficial.com to find out information to see where they are signing their new single!"
I grabbed my laptop and typed in the address before seeing that the nearest signing was only 10 minutes away from my flat on Tuesday at 4pm. I finished work at Schuh at 3pm and it was only across the road from HMV. Would he recognise me? Or even if he did recognise me, would he ignore me?

I sighed and shook my head at the queue of screaming girls that were already waiting as I walked into Schuh at 8am. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I saw that I had a text. "Heyy! How are you gorgeous? xxxxx" I looked up at the HMV through the shop window and back down at the text. I put my phone in my pocket and went to prepare some new stock. As the clock reached 2:50pm, Rosa the cashier tapped me on the shoulder. "Those girls are so annoying! Haven't they lost their voices yet?" She rolled her eyes as I laughed and grabbed my coat. "See you tomorrow, Rosa" I waved and went to join the long queue across the road. I looked a little out of place - most of the girls were from eight to sixteen years old, wearing flashing bunny ears. After an hour, the queue started to grow louder, the girls screamed a lot more, it started moving and then after another half an hour, I was near the front. I spotted on the end of the table - his hair was so much longer, but he didn't look grown up - if anything he looked the opposite. He smirked as girls asked to have a picture with him or a hug, and it seemed like he was the fan's favourite. As I grew closer to the table, I got kind of nervous, but I was polite and said hi to the other guys.
"Makes a change to have a fan who's not a teenager," winked at me before asking me whether I wanted a picture. I agreed - why not? I might as well. "Guys, this lovely lady wants a picture," nudged the others and they got out of their seats. I saw look up and just stop dead in his tracks.
"? Is that you?" I didn't have time to reply - he just literally jumped on me and squeezed me into a hug. "I can't believe it's you! I haven't seen you for like... 5 years? God, you've changed... you look so grown up..." he looked at me proudly before we turned round to see the other three guys staring at us with confused faces and some fans behind me looking pretty impatient. "Lets have this picture then. I'll give you my mobile number in a sec," winked before posing for a picture with me. He hugged me from behind and rested his head on my shoulder - leading to some evil glares from some fans. Before saying goodbye, I gave him my mobile and he entered his number. I walked out and found my car, smiling to myself. I had those butterflies fluttering through my stomach again. When I got home, my phone beeped and I looked down to see I had a new message from : "Hi its . u stil live @ the same place? wana cum wiv me 2 london & c my new place 4 a week? xxx"
I grinned, texted a reply, started packing a suitcase and phoned my work - I had a weeks holiday due anyway. About half an hour later a massive red tour bus pulled up outside the block of flats, I locked my door and went down to the bottom floor in the lift. was walking down the steps and out of the tour bus door and I ran up to him and hugged him like he did at HMV. "Heyyyy! You ready then?" he grinned before taking the suitcase off me, "Woah how much you got in here?! Are you moving in with me?" he winked as I laughed and skipped up the steps and onto the bus to be met with three faces full of concentration staring at a TV screen showing two cars racing against each other.
"Uhhh hi?" I raised my eyebrow as none of them even glanced at me.
"Oh just ignore them, they're on the final level and they've been like that for the past 20 minutes," said from behind me before gesturing me to follow him upstairs to the top deck of the bus. There were a long sofa with a table and food everywhere and he offered me a donut that looked about a year old. "Uhh no thanks," I laughed as he shrugged and ate the whole thing in two bites. "So, how's life?" he asked. It was my turn to shrug. "Nothing interesting happening really. Not like yours, I saw you on Jonathan Ross," I changed the subject as he grinned. "Yeah, I guess things are looking up," he smiled, starting to eat another donut. He told me the famous story on how McFly came together for about an hour before popped his head round the staircase.
", 's on the phone," chucked a mobile across the floor before saying hi to me and running back downstairs. ? Maybe they were just friends?
"Hey babe! You'll never guess who I've got sat next to me... no, it's not Brad Pitt," he rolled his eyes at me, "It's ! !" I heard a squeal coming from the phone speaker and he held it at arms length, "I think she wants to speak to you?" he said, rubbing his ear.
"Umm hey?" I hesitated before speaking down the phone.
"!" she screamed and I held the phone at arms length like did. After going through the same, how-are-you-doing routine I agreed that we'd have to have a girly cinema trip and catch up and said I'd see her in a few hours.
"I'm so tired," I yawned while handing back the phone.
"Why don't you have a little sleep? It will take about three hours to get to London," he smiled before patting his chest, "you can lean on me if you want," he offered and I agreed. I leaned onto him and he grabbed a remote off the table and a television appeared from a wooden wall. He turned down the volume and wrapped an arm around my waist. He smelt just like he used to, and his thick jumper was warm and soft. I soon drifted off to sleep, feeling like I was in heaven and forgetting about .

"Shhh... you'll wake her up!" I heard whisper loudly as I stirred, but fell into a half sleeping, half awake state.
"You really do though," I heard laugh.
"Well... we have known each other since we 5..." stuttered, but I heard chuckle.
"Yeah, whatever . Well I think you should go for it anyway. I know there's , but I dunno you just don't seem go together as well as with her. She's a good one she is."
"Why don't you go for her then?" protested, which felt like someone had pinched my heart, waking me up slightly. I heard sigh, and I opened my eyes.
"Alright?" grinned at me and I smiled before yawning and sitting up but 's arm still stayed protectively around my shoulders.
"We're nearly here, we're about ten minutes away," said as I looked up at him and he kissed my forehead. He was so different now... before he was determined not to show any feelings to anyone, and he would have never put his arm round me or kissed me back then, so it surprised me a bit.

We got out of the bus and outside into the cold night air, which made me regret putting my favourite thick jumper in my suitcase and not putting it on before leaving the flat. I shivered rubbing my cold arms and , took off his jumper and I tried not to stare at his chest as his t-shirt lifted up a bit. He handed me the jumper, and I put it on, even though it was massive on me and was more like a dress. As I put it over my head, I could smell his smell and breathed it in. All five of us went up the drive, and turned the key, unlocking the door. must have heard the door open as she was at the other side, waiting to pounce on me and wrap me into a hug. She didn't look much different, but she looked kind of tired and her stomach seemed to be a bit larger.
"Hey hey, woah woah woah, take it easy!" rushed over to her and kissed her, and I tried hard not to look jealous.
"You didn't tell her, did you?" looked at as he shook his head, "Good I wanted to tell her," she grinned. Tell me what? I frowned. "... I'm pregnant... me and are having a baby!" she squealed. My heart felt like it was ripping in half and my eyes stung as I forced a smile.
"That's... that's brilliant," I stuttered.
" are you ok?" came over to me, "you look a bit... pale?"
"Yeah... I just can't believe that they're having a... baby... I think I need to sit down, it's been a long journey and..." I mumbled, and butted in.
"Do you want me to show you your bedroom?" he rested a hand on my shoulder as I nodded. He took me upstairs and showed me into a quite large room with a double bed, "sit down, and I'll get your case from the hall," I smiled at him, but it soon disappeared. What was I thinking? They were perfect for each other, they'd been together all this time and now they were going to start a family. I was wrong. He didn't like me in that way, and he never would, I was just a good friend. He loved her. You could tell by the way he cared about her, that she was The One. She was the girl he would always be with. I had to face that fact.
came up the stairs, his face bright red, "That's one heavy case," he laughed, and I made myself giggle. He sat on the bed next to me and sighed, "Now, lets sort you out. Come here," he embraced me into a hug, taking me by surprise, "I know what your thinking about . You can stop me if I'm wrong but I think I know what’s going on. You thought he was single didn't you?" I looked down at my trainers and nodded.
"I heard you saying that you saw us on Jonathan Ross. Our record company want us to say that we're all single because it would "get us more fans", which is a load of crap," he rolled his eyes, "I knew it would cause trouble. You really like him though, don't you?" I nodded again, until I couldn't hold my tears and I wailed.
"Shhh... okay, let it all out, but don't be too loud," he laughed, hugging me again, "Look, you go to bed, and I'll tell them that you felt a bit travel sick, okay?" I nodded and he left me to get changed into my pyjamas. I sighed and inhaled a deep breath before getting up and opening my suitcase.

I awoke to a creak on the floorboards near my door. My eyes shot open and my ears strained to hear the slightest movement. I peered over my quilt and managed to see a figure stood at my door, with boxer shorts, a bare torso and ruffed hair. He was stood there for what could have been 10 minutes before he turned and gently closed the door to. I peered at a digital clock at my bedside - it said 4:12am. Why was he checking on me? Of course, because had told him I was feeling travel sick. But why would he get up so early? After a while I drifted off to sleep and the next thing I knew, the early morning light was shining through the curtains. I rubbed my eyes, saw the bathroom was free and locked myself in with all the shower gel and hair products I'd bought. As I was relaxing in the shower, humming my favourite tune I heard a bang.
"! How long does it take?! I'm going to pee in a plant pot in a minute!" yelled from the other side of the door.
"Okay, I'll be one sec! I just need to moisturise," I giggled as I heard a loud groan, I turned off the shower and wrapped myself in a towel. I opened the door to see crossing his legs and looking worriedly at the plant pot which was on the floor.
"Oh god , you haven't peed have you?" I laughed as he ran into the bathroom, dodging the pot as he walked past it.
"No, but there's a massive spider in it, and I was debating whether it would eat me or not if I peed on it," he winked as he closed the door.
"EWWWWWWWWWWWW OH MY GOD SOMEBODY GET RID OF ITTTT!!!!!" I screamed and ran cowardly into my room, peering around my door.
"What on earth?!" came running upstairs, in the same boxers he was wearing last night and a baggy top. I pointed at the pot and winced as he picked it up and peered inside it, "has peed again?" he frowned, but then jumped as a large black blob scuttled out of the pot, which was next to his face. "Is this why you look like you've seen a ghost?" raised his eyebrow as he held the spider in his open hand and studied it. I nodded.
"I'll go add it to my collection," he grinned and skipped off to his room. I shook my head - he had the same love for reptiles and insects like he did 5 years ago as well. I followed him into his room and was surprised to see a tidy version of 's old room and without all the posters.
"Where's all your... er... stuff?" I frowned as I looked around at the basically empty room.
" likes it tidy. Most of my stuff is in the garage, like skateboards and stuff, and my stuff is in the music room downstairs," I detected a slight bit of anger in his voice and decided to change the subject.
"So are you doing anything today?" I smiled, trying to keep my eyes away from the tank that he was putting the spider into.
"Nope, we've got most of this week off cause we did most of the promotion stuff last week. So I was thinking that I could treat you to a shopping spree," he grinned at me as I smiled, but then put my hands on my hips.
"Okay, what's the catch? You'd never take me shopping," I raised my eyebrows at him as he put his hands in the air.
"What?! A guy can't take a girl shopping?" he laughed and then stopped, as he realised how coupley it sounded, "but seriously, no catch," he scratched the back of his neck.
"I'll go and get ready then," I smiled, then, realising I was still in a towel, rushed out. I shoved on a t-shirt and jeans, put on a bit of mascara then ran my hair through my straighteners. I ran downstairs and drank some orange juice. I wasn't really hungry, so I walked into the living room to see snuggled up to on the sofa and felt my stomach jolt. I imagined how it must feel to be in her shoes, but tried to shake the thought out of my head.

"You ready, ?" jumped up, but stayed seated on the sofa.
"Yeah, but isn't coming?" I looked over at and she gave me a fake smile, that gave me the feeling that she secretly wanted to come.
"No, I think you and should just go. You haven't seen each other for ages," she looked quickly at the floor and sighed.
"Okay," I said quickly, not wanting her to change her mind. I felt guilty about how I was acting towards her, but the feelings I had for were taking over. smiled and walked to the front door, shouting to the guys that we were going and three grunts were heard in response. He grabbed the keys from the side table and opened the door and I followed.
"Mine's the silver one," he grinned and my eyes grew wide as he walked over to the new silver sports car and held the door open on the passenger side, "you carriage awaits," he was still grinning and I played with the strap on my bag that was over my shoulder, grinning back. I jumped into the car and smoothed down the side of the leather seat, grabbing the seat belt and he got in the other side. He turned the key in the ignition and the engine roared as he backed out.

"You should go try it on if your not sure," he laughed at me as I studied the dress I had in my hand for the fourth time. I sighed and went to the changing rooms. It fit perfectly, so I opened the curtain to get his opinion. He was sat on a chair outside next to a long length mirror and looked up smiling as I walked towards him.
"What do you think?" I smiled back at him.
"You look... amazing," he grinned as I turned towards the mirror and he got up and stood behind me, "there's just a button undone at the back. I'll do it." I could feel his warm hands resting on my back as he fiddled with the loose button, and I watched him carefully from under my hair. "That's better," he smiled sheepishly. I smiled at myself in the mirror. The dress was really nice, and as I looked over my shoulder, I caught his eye. "Do you want it?" he sat back down on the chair.
"Well, it's really nice, but have you seen the price tag?" I raised my eyebrow at him, "you really think I could afford that?" I laughed and walked back over to the changing room and changed back into my clothes. I walked out with the dress over my arm and followed me. The woman behind the counter smiled at me, "is that okay, or would you like me to take it off you?"
"Oh, would you take it please?" I handed her the dress, and just before she went to take it, grabbed it. "No, it doesn't matter, she'll keep it," he butted in, and I frowned at him as he guided me to the queue to the tills, "I'm paying," he smiled. I sighed and crossed my arms, but didn't argue.

"So was running down our street screaming just wearing his boxers," he laughed as we walked down the pathway in the mall, one arm around my shoulders protectively as yet another guy stared at me as he walked past - I was regretting wearing a low-cut top. His eyes crinkled up in a cute way when he laughed, and butterflies fluttered through my stomach. I looked up to see a group of girls whispering to each other and staring at us walking our way.
"Erm, excuse me, but would you mind having a photo with us, ?" a girl with brown hair spoke up from the four girls, and they looked at me, as if asking for permission.
"Sure," he smiled at them.
"Do you want me to take the picture?" I asked, and the girl nodded and handed me her camera. grinned at the camera as the girls went to either side of him. The camera flashed.
"Thanks. Are you 's girlfriend? It's just I run a McFly fansite, and I'd like to put some info up about you, if that's ok?" a girl with red hair came over to me to get the camera back.
"Umm..." I looked up at . What was I doing? Of course I wasn't his girlfriend, why was I hesitating?
"Sadly she's not, she's just a really close friend at the moment," laughed and the girls looked relieved.
"Would it still be okay if we put some info up about you? And could I have a picture of you both together?" the redhead spoke again. This girl was really into her fansite, I thought to myself.
"Why not?" smiled, and squeezed me into a big hug, so our cheeks were touching, and I felt the static again. The girl asked me a few questions and then walked away, talking to each other with excitement.
"You're gonna be as famous as me, now," he winked and put his arm back around me and started walking towards the car park.

"We're home," called out as he shut the door and dumped the bags in the hallway.
"I'm in here!" called from the living room where she was still watching TV. She had faint black tear stains where her mascara had run down her face.
"Heyy, what's a matter?" rushed over to her as I stood awkwardly in the doorway.
"Oh, it's just this film I've been watching that was quite sad," she sniffed and wiped her face with a tissue and cuddled her.
"I'll just go and put my shopping upstairs in my room," I said quickly, but got up off the sofa.
"No, I'll do it. You go and sit with for a bit. You haven't seen each other for ages," he smiled and walked upstairs with as many bags as he could carry, leaving more than half of them downstairs.
I hesitated and then walked over to the sofa and sat down next to her.
"What film was it?" I said making an excuse to make conversation.
"Err... oh some old film, you won't have heard of it," she muttered quickly, still focusing on the TV.
"Why don't we go to the cinema tonight? Have a girly night?" I grinned at her and a smile grew on her face.
"That would be nice. Catch up on some gossip," she winked at me, and we carried on watching the TV.

had let us borrow his car to drive to the cinema and showed me the way. We decided to watch a chick flick which was on and bought some popcorn to share. The film wasn't very interesting, and I could tell that was kinda bored too, so I tried to make conversation.
"So... how far gone are you then?" I nudged her arm slightly, and she looked down, and then some tears whelmed up in her eyes, "Hey, don't cry! What's up?" I pushed up the arm rest and gave her a hug and she sobbed into my shoulder.
", I don't know what to do... I went for a scan on my own while was busy at the signings and they discovered that the baby has died. I have to have an operation to get it taken out... and I daren't tell because he'd be so upset and I just don't... I don't feel as close as to him as I used to... and then there's ..." she cried.
", you should tell him. He's the father, he's got as much right as you to know. He'll be upset, but he won't blame you, he'll understand. And will be okay too," I said, frowning a bit at how she'd randomly thought of .
"But it's not just that. 's not the father," she gasped for breaths inbetween telling me the story and sobbing. I leaned back to look at her. Did she just say that...?
"What do you mean?" I stared at her.
"Well, when was visiting his family for the weekend, me and got along really well and we ended up... well... you know..." she put her head in her hands, "I'm an awful girlfriend. 's been trying to hint to that it's time to move on from me, but he still really loves me, but I think I love , and everythings messed up. I can't end it with and then get together with because the whole band would be a mess, and doesn't even know about being a father and still thinks I'm having 's baby... how did I let everything get so bad, ? What can I do?" I hugged her and she cried again on my shoulder.
"Oh ... I don't know what to say... but you can't keep on lying to everyone, they're going to find out sometime what's happened, and why you're not having the baby. Why don't we go to a nice cafe, have a cup of hot chocolate, then go home and sort all of this out?" I smiled at her.
"But what can I say? Do I just come out with it or what?" she frowned, pushing back the hair from around her face.
"Do whatever you think would be best. You can't keep leading on, or ," I sighed, and we left the film and drove to a nearby Starbucks. The hot chocolate seemed to cheer up a bit, but I noticed that her eyes kept darting to look at her round stomach and her hand laid gently on the bump, as if it may magically come back to life.

"I can't do this," mumbled to me as I stood behind her, edging her in the room where was sat with the three other guys.
"You can, just say that you want to talk to him and take him upstairs," I urged and she cleared her throat and edged forward.
"..." she said, hardly speaking.
"Hmm?" he responded, looking slowly up at her from the TV.
"Is it okay if we talk upstairs in private for a while?" she forced an uneasy smile and he nodded, putting the orange juice that was in his hand on the side table and they made their way upstairs. gave me a look that made it clear that she didn't want to do it, but I smiled at her and made my way into the living room where , and were watching Family Guy.
"What did she want to talk about?" asked me, looking half worried, half confused.
"I don't know, I've only heard what you've heard," I said innocently as I sat down with them. Suddenly, we heard a wailing coming from upstairs and we all looked at the ceiling.
"I'm gonna go up and check on them," said, standing up and making his way over to the door. The other two followed and I sighed and did the same. We all stood around the closed door and everything was silent except from a few sobbing noises every now and again. Then we faintly heard talking.
"It doesn't matter, as long as you're okay," he said, sounding slightly awkward.
"But it's not just that , we can't be together anymore, please, I'll go and live with my parents," said.
"I don't understand. Why? It's not about again is it?" he sighed and the three guys all turned to me. I put my hands in the air and shook my head. What have I done?
"No, it's just that... it's not yours. I mean it wasn't yours," she cried, suddenly bursting out.
"What's not mine?" said quietly, but it sounded like he'd caught on.
"The baby..." she said so faintly, that everyone stepped closer. Then we heard footsteps and all ran downstairs as quiet as we could. thundered downstairs and I caught a glimpse of his face, expressionless, before he slammed the door shut and strided down the street. I immediately got up and ran for the door, but when I looked up the street he was gone. I ran down the street, shouting his name, not knowing any of the surroundings or where he could have gone. As I turned the corner I saw a small park with a river and a blossom tree. was stood under it, leaning over the wooden rails of a bridge. I walked over to him, trying to catch my breath and when I finally reached him, I stood next to him.
"I know about . She told me at the cinema and I urged her to tell you," I said, almost too scared to speak. I wasn't sure what his reaction would be. I'd never seen him this upset before.
"Thanks, I guess," he said, then looked up at me, "Do you know who the other guy is?" he looked like he was trying to search me.
"No, I don't," I lied, thinking it would be better to tell him at a better time. He then unexpectedly gave me a hug, but it was weird because my arms were around his shoulders and his around my waist. I closed my eyes and smiled and felt the same feeling I did when I was 13.

"I love you, " I gasped, breathing in as much of his scent as I could.
"I love you too. I'm not going to let anyone get in the way of us ever again, I promise. I'm going to make sure we stay friends," he said, the word "friends" feeling like acid stinging my heart, ", are you crying?" he said, leaning back and wiping my hair out of my eyes.
"Sorry, you should be the one crying," I sniffled, feeling stupid. He grabbed my hand and lead me to a bench under the tree that looked over the river.
"What's up? Surely I'm not that ugly," he chuckled, still holding onto my hand.
"It doesn't matter. It's ridiculous," I laughed at myself, how could I be so stupid?
"I'm sure it's not. I know I'm a guy, but I can still be sympathetic," he squeezed my hand.
"You're gonna think I'm an idiot, but there's this guy who I really like, but I know that I'll never be good enough," I sighed. Hopefully I wasn't making this sound stupidly cheesy or obvious.
"Don't be silly. You're probably out of his league, you'd make a brilliant girlfriend. If he ever messes you around he'll have me to talk to," he said, obviously not catching on to who I was talking about. He unclasped my hand and put his arm around my shoulders, hugging me into his side. If anyone saw us now, they'd assume we were a couple. It was weird how I wished so much that it would mean something but everyone else was oblivious.
"What are you gonna do about then?" I sighed, assuming that he would forgive her and everything would go back to how it was.
"I guess I'm gonna have to wait for her to pack up her stuff and then I can have the whole bed to myself again," he gave me a cheeky grin, acting as if he'd completely forgotten what had happened earlier, "I wasn't ready to be a father yet anyway. I'm only 19, and I act younger than that. I don't think I could have been like the man of the family. I want to go out and have some fun," he said, looking out at the river and grinning. I giggled, this was the guy I was imagining him to be like.
"What are you giggling at Miss. ?" he smiled playfully, tickling my sides, knowing where I was most ticklish. I jumped up and ran, while he chased me. He jumped on me as we landed on the grass, rolling around both of us laughing at how childish we were acting.
"Uh oh, looks like it's gonna rain," I said, pointing at the sky as he looked up.
"Oh well, we're teenagers, what do we care?" he yelled, going back to tickling me as we rolled on the grass. I felt large raindrops land on my skin, but for once, I didn't care.

My hair was dripping wet and the grass was muddy but we were still rolling about, acting like little kids. But then I caught sight of his perfectly soft lips and I tried to hold myself back when he rolled over so I had landed on top of him. I stopped tickling him and lent in to press my lips on to his. He stopped too, wrapping his arms over my back. It felt like my heart was going to explode but at the same time I felt like the happiest girl alive. I grinned through the kiss as he took over and we sat up. We eventually pulled away and I gasped, feeling like I'd be resuscitated. I looked up at him and he was starring at me, as amazed as me.
"Have you taken the hint yet?" I laughed nervously.
"Are we still friends?" he raised his eyebrows cheekily and laughed, "I've wanted to do that for so long," he smiled to himself. I frowned.
"Since when?" I sighed.
"Since the day with the lunchboxes. You were my first crush," he chuckled, "it took 14 years for me to get my wish."
"Then why didn't you do anything?" I fumed, crossing my legs.
"I always thought you saw me as just a friend and I didn't want to ruin anything. That and I was coward and every time I was gonna say something it never seemed like the perfect moment, but I guess this is it," he said, and my frown softened.
"For me it was ever since you're first gig when we were 13. You must have worked your charms, ," I poked him in the ribs.
"I think we better take shelter," he said, pulling me up from the muddy floor and laughing at the mud splat on my bum. We hid in a cove in a bush and I squeezed the water out of my black vest top, shivering.
"I think it's my time, don't you?" he said from behind me, grabbing my waist and spinning me round. Before I could ask, he started kissing me, the feelings shooting back to how they were.
"As fun as this is," I said between kisses, "I think everyone will be sending out a search party soon."
"Yeah, good point. And you must be freezing, get under my hoodie," he said, unzipping it and holding it above our heads. We ran to the McFly house, leaving our muddy shoes in the porch.
"Where've you two been? left ages ago," said walking in from the kitchen where him and had been trying to work out a microwavable meal.
"Long story," winked at me and we went into the living room and sat in front of the TV, "Where's ?"
"Umm... he went with ," said, coming in to join us and leaving struggling in the kitchen.
"How come?" I said, leaning over to look at as he squirmed and kept his eyes on the TV.
"I think he was helping her with her bags," he said, fiddling with his hands.
"?" I said, knowing it wasn't the truth. He looked at , then looked at me.
"He's the other guy isn't he?" said, looking straight ahead.
"Mate... I'm sorry, I didn't know until they left," said, giving him a sympathetic pat on the shoulder.
"No, it's fine. It's fate I guess," he smiled at me and put his arm round me, kissing my forehead.
"Wait... you guys?! I KNEW IT!" gasped, pointing at both of us, "!!" he yelled. took his arm off my shoulders and we both acted completely normal.
"What?! I'm trying to cook a bloody meal here!" said, annoyed at the interuption.
"Ahhh! They were all cosy, I swear!!" said, as shook his head and walked off. We laughed and started to cuddle me again.
"Are you two... y'know? Or are you messing with me again? I'm so confused!" cried.
"Yes , we are "y'know"," chuckled.
"Wait, have I just imagined ?" frowned.
"I guess it's just fate," winked at me.

All four of the eyes that were staring at the TV turned to the door as it clicked out of it's socket and a dark figure tried to creep upstairs.
"?" sighed as the figure stopped in it's tracks, attempted to turn around but tripped over some 's shoes in the hall and landed flat on it's face and murmured "shit". He entered the room, his eyes slowly looking up to who had his arms around my shoulders on the sofa. He scratched the back of his neck.
"I went to get some... uhh... milk," he said, shuffling himself over to the sofa next to me.
"It's alright dude, I know," leaned forwards to look at as a confused look poured over his face.
"Are you sure you know?" he said, raising one eyebrow.
"Yeah, no worries mate. Can't let a girl ruin the band, yeah?" he smiled as looked down at his hands which were folded in his lap and looked smug.
"Yeah. Well, sorry anyway," said, still wondering if was talking about the same thing as he was. The room went quiet again and was filled with the noise of the TV program until cracked the silence, "She's gone now," he said, making all four of us turn to him.
"Gone where?" I spoke up as looked like he'd suddenly realised I was there.
"Texas. She said she always wanted to go and this was her opportunity I guess," he smiled, "What's with this anyway?" his smile turning into a confused frown as he spotted and I closer than usual.
"I guess you were right in the tour bus, we do go well together," laughed, blushing slightly.
"Wheyy!! I knew you wouldn't be able to hold back. Well done mate," he laughed and gave him a high five making me giggle as he kissed my forehead.

"And here's this week's number one," the TV blasted out as hushed us all and I stood next to the TV with a party popper hidden behind my back.
"It's McFly with 5 Colours In Her Hair!" the presenter announced and the room exploded with cheers. I popped the party popper and picked me up in his arms.
"I kept my promise," he whispered in my ear.
"What?" I said, puzzled.
"The one I made when I was 13. I told you that you wouldn't be able to get rid of me and here I am," he grinned and swung me round. I felt my heart beat loudly as I knew that this wouldn't be the last time I would be celebrating a number one with my rockstar boyfriend.
